Equivity is looking for a part-time virtual paralegal based on the East Coast with recent experience supporting attorneys in an appellate law firm. We are looking for paralegals with at least four years of experience in state and federal litigation, including appellate practice, in the state of Florida. If you have experience supporting a litigation practice and have previously assisted attorneys remotely, we want to hear from you!
Virtual paralegals at Equivity develop a portfolio of clients supporting a number of different attorneys. Your experience should include assisting with the preparation of motions, briefs, and supporting documents for filing. For this role, you need to have experience preparing appellate briefs and preparing for appellate argument. This experience must include preparation of tables of contents, tables of authorities, exhibits, appendix, and supporting documents. You must be experienced in proofing and reviewing briefs for spelling, grammar, and proper citation.
The ideal candidate would have experience providing administrative support for a law firm, including assistance with marketing activities and client communications. Deep familiarity with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel, and editing PDFs is also a must. This particular client will require you to be available for a few hours each day of the week to have constant communication, review and edit documents, and provide real-time collaboration.
More about our company:
Equivity matches clients with virtual assistants that provide paralegal, administrative and marketing support. Our virtual paralegals work with a high degree of autonomy and are responsible for developing relationships with our clients. Because we provide extremely attentive service to our clients, you must be available to respond to client communications during the business within one hour by email, phone, and text and be available to work on projects throughout the business day. All of this work is done remotely, meaning that you can work from home.
The selected candidate would be hired as a part-time employee of Equivity, not an independent contractor. We anticipate that this particular role will require availability of at least 20 hours per week, as well as a flexible schedule to respond to the often urgent needs that arise for this client.
