General Summary:
Responsible for the purchasing of parts & supplies, shipping of parts to customers, execution of front office activities, such as preparation of correspondence, filing, data entry, switchboard management and handling general inquiries. The Purchasing Agent / Office Assistant reports directly to the Office Manager.
Responsibilities:
The priorities and duties of the Purchasing Agent / Office Assistant will be directed by the Office Manager and the Sales, Operations and Service departments. The basic responsibilities are listed below:
Purchasing responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Issuing POs for parts
Coordinating deliveries, returns, shortages, etc.
Processing invoices
Maintaining supplier relationships & sourcing new suppliers
Negotiating prices from different suppliers
Other Duties:
Shipping document and assistance
Switchboard management
Manual duplication
Data entry
Misc. filing
Various office support functions
While the above items are the primary job functions, any job in the front office, as determined by the Office Manager, could fall within the scope of the Purchasing Agent / Office Assistant.
Requirements:
Basic typing & computer knowledge such as Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
Previous purchasing experience is helpful
