Handles administrative activities generally associated with the conduct of clinical trials.

Provides guidance to less experienced staff.

Manages research project databases, develops flow sheets and other study related documents, and completes source documents/case report forms.

Interfaces with research participants, determines eligibility and consents study participants according to protocol.

Approves orders for supplies and equipment maintenance.

Assists in developing recruitment strategies and conducting screenings for study participants including interviews and questionnaires.

Supervises collection of study specimens and processing.

Establishes case packages for study procedures, monitors scheduling of procedures and charges, coordinates other services as needed.

Ensures compliance with research protocols, reviews case report forms and audits for accuracy with source documents, attends monitoring meetings with sponsors.

Prepares regulatory submissions.

With appropriate credentialing and training, may perform phlebotomy or diagnostics.

Performs related approved responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:This position will include supporting two research and evaluation projects; both focused on cardiometabolic health during pregnancy and postpartum among people in Georgia. The overarching goal of our team is to identify social and structural factors associated with poor maternal and infant outcomes in pregnancy and postpartum and test effective interventions to address social determinants of health.The coordinator will be responsible for leading the recruitment of 450 pregnant persons and 15 home visitors for a longitudinal, survey-based project and qualitative interviews, respectively. The coordinator will also assist in preparing data for reports, proofing reading quarterly reports, and communicating recruitment information to the research team.This position can be nearly completely remote or hybrid, as needed. We would love to identify someone passionate about the topic and interested in developing new skills in this role. Depending on interest and skill level, the coordinator can participate in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, project management, and results dissemination to community and academic partners. This project is led by Dr. Kait Stanhope, in the Epidemiology department and will work closely with colleagues in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department in the School of Medicine.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:(1.) High School Diploma or GED and five years of clinical research experience. OR(2.) Two years of college in a scientific, health related, or business administration program and three years clinical research experience OR(3.) Licensed as a practical nurse (LPN) and two years clinical research experience OR(4.) Bachelor's degree in a scientific, health related, or business administration related program and one year of clinical research experience OR(5.) Master's degree, MD or PhD in a scientific, health related or business administration programThis position is intended to support clinical research and all clinical training requirements must be tracked and monitored through Emory Healthcare under the credentialing category of CLINICAL RESEARCHER.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have experience with data analysis and management using R, and have experience recruiting and enrolling individuals for research studies. The ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and communicate effectively are also important skills.NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.
