Description Robert Half is seeking a Database Administrator with strong problem-solving skills to contribute in solving complex, multi-layered challenges. The Database Administrator will be located in Atlanta, Georgia and is a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity.What you get to do every single day
Handle the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all database instances across development, staging, and production environments
Configure monitoring utilities for databases to keep false alarms to a minimum
Figure out the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
Solve database service outages as they happen during hours, after hours, and on weekends
Advise on database design, tuning options, and other potential issues
Monitor for deviation in baseline system performance, and advise on and execute improvements to slow running queries
Ensure database server topology, configuration, and maintenance are designed and executed to meet SLA objectives Requirements - Aptitude for adjusting queries to improve performance
Understanding of production environments and being on-call
4+ years of database experience
T-SQL experience required
Foundational knowledge in SSIS
Power BI experience highly desired
Deep understanding of SSRS
Microsoft SQL Server experience desired
Solid grasp of relational database management systems
Experience building and maintaining documentation
