Director of IAM Authentication and Authorization

The Authentication and Authorization (AuthN/Z) Capability Owner is a senior level IAM leadership position reporting to the senior director of IAM Technical Services. This role is responsible for running the overall capability that encompasses the AuthN/Z business facing service. This role must have a strong understanding or the underlying controls and business processes that comprise the major functions of;
  • AuthN/Z Automation tools
  • Design
  • Deployment
  • Adoption
  • Provisioning / Deprovisioning User objects and access
  • AuthN/Z Protocols and Standards (i.e, Kerberos, LDAP, OAuth, FIDO, SAML, Federation, etc)
  • Migration techniques

The AuthN/Z Capability Owner is directly responsible for aligning the AuthN/Z platform to the broader enterprise IAM vision and strategy, developing and executing AuthN/Z roadmaps against that strategy, identifying and evaluating tools , utilities processes and components that comprise the AuthN/Z ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is a critical thinker with a keen interest in improving the IAM internal control environment. They are highly organized and able to manage multiple work streams simultaneously, meet committed delivery dates and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The candidate must have a track record of involvement with IAM programs and AuthN/Z functions at a senior level.

Responsibilities
  • Delivers roadmaps and strategies that accelerate enterprise adoption of modern authentication Standards.
  • Identifies and designs automation that reduce barriers and Cost to enterprise for AuthN/Z efforts
  • A key contributor to the IAM standards and actively participates in the annual review and update of IAM controls.
  • Provides Subject Matter expertise to business units who are managing their own control environment
  • Acts as the primary interface to AuthN/Z Technical Delivery Teams, Technical Operations , IAM Controls Team and internal Business teams
  • Drives continuous improvement of authentication and authorization practices and overall service.
  • Primary point of contact for AuthN/Z vendors
  • Responsible for ensuring overall health of AuthN/Z service

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in Cyber Security/ Identity and Access Management
  • 5-7 years IAM (AuthN/Z Preferred) experience for financial services or other highly regulated industry
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a Sr IAM Leadership role with responsibility for delivering capabilities or tools
  • Firm understanding of Privileged Account , processes and controls
  • Strong understanding of PCI, SOX, HIPA, EU-GDPR regulations for IAM
  • Working knowledge or better of industry standard AuthN/Z tools such as Cloud IAM, PING, OKTA, Centrify, Forgerock etc.
  • 2+ years of experience managing teams and staff
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Executive presence
