This role brings a technology perspective to strategy development, reconciles technical and strategic business needs, and ensures we have the right set of platforms, capabilities, and standards in place to progress the enterprise roadmap. Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of applications by determining each application’s ability to provide value to the business relative to cost. Identify which applications to retire, grow or replace, repurpose, or sustain.

Drive innovation opportunities and plan how to use technology to create competitive advantage, enable business innovation and achieve improved operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Interface with key business and IT leaders for the purpose of understanding priorities and delivering modern architecture platforms, processes and standards that enable the company’s vision and extraordinary growth while ensuring high quality and robust outcomes.

Serve as an expert for software tools, technology, and standards while providing strategic architectural consulting in the areas of external trends, best practices, and adherence to standards.

Help to construct the company’s target architecture strategy and accompanying roadmap, and drive forward training, framework development, and technology deployment in support of the strategy.

Generate, socialize, and maintain key EA artifacts and guidance leveraged by the larger technology community, including architecture principals, enterprise models, architectural guidelines, solution selectors, and reference patterns.

Monitor and analyze the technological environment to detect deficiencies and recommend improvements.

Possess a thorough understanding of modern work practices such as DevOps, Continuous Delivery, Lean Enterprise/Lean Startup, and Enterprise Agile.

Identify and promote reusable design patterns and solutions, facilitating faster development cycles and consistent delivery of high-quality software systems.

Assist in crafting and maintaining the future state architectural processes, along with driving our application modernization and migration roadmaps.

Design, Documentation and Communication:

Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive architecture documentation, including diagrams, frameworks, and technical specifications.

Develop compelling presentations and reports to effectively communicate architectural strategies, roadmaps, and progress to executive stakeholders.

Foster a culture of knowledge sharing by establishing and promoting effective communication channels and platforms.

Governance and Standards Champion:

Establish and maintain enterprise-wide architectural standards and guidelines, for specific coverage areas.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define roadmaps and architectural approaches.

Ensure compliance with architecture, security and technology standards in specified focus areas.

Software Lifecycle Management:

Drive the evaluation and selection of technologies, tools, and platforms to support application portfolios.

Collaborate with development teams to establish coding standards, version control processes, and continuous integration/deployment practices.

Monitor and evaluate the performance and scalability of software systems, identifying opportunities for optimization and recommending necessary improvements.

Continued Transformation:

Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in enterprise architecture.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation within the supported teams, promoting a culture of learning and adaptation.

Drive the transformation of business-critical departments, aligning technology solutions with strategic business objectives and facilitating digital transformation initiatives.

Work with 3rd parties to develop software and/or integrate their software into the company's products.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field

7+ years of experience performing as a senior architect, particularly in large corporate ecosystems.

Experience designing and implementing strategic roadmaps

Hands-on experience developing and maintaining enterprise models, architecture blueprints, systems diagrams, data models, process flows, data flows, and other key architecture deliverables.

Professional certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS/Azure certifications, SAFe for Architects) are a plus.

Deep understanding of cloud refactoring strategies for application development.

Broad understanding of application frameworks and contemporary integration patters.

In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices.

Strong leadership abilities, with experience supporting and mentoring diverse engineering teams.

Familiarity with emerging technologies such as cloud computing, microservices, Kubernetes, and artificial intelligence is highly desirable.

Continuous learner especially in emerging areas of technology, modern work practices and digital transformation.
