Packaging Supervisor

Momar is looking for a Packaging Supervisor!Momar, Inc., a privately owned specialty chemical manufacturing company based in Atlanta, GA, is currently seeking a Packaging Supervisor to join our Momar family. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Packaging Supervisor will be responsible foroverseeing the day-to-day functions of the purchasing department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform supervisory duties in addition to supporting day-to-day packaging obligations as needed.

Hold the packaging team accountable for adhering to company policies and work rules, including proper safety protocols and material handling techniques.

Coordinate with the Lead Packager on prioritization, assignment, and distribution of daily workloads to the production team to ensure customer needs and satisfaction are met.

Identify training needs for the packaging team and coordinate with the Lead Packager on when training should be offered.

Assist the Operations Manager in identifying staffing needs, interviewing applicants, and selecting new hires.

Maintain internal communication between inventory, manufacturing, shipping, and customer service teams regarding product status and any delays or changes in the production schedule.

Maintain frequent communication among various personnel and departments, identifying needs and priorities, and helping resolve problems and questions in a timely manner.

Communicate potential personnel issues to the Operations Manager or Human Resources Manager.

Participate in reviewing and possibly resolving personnel complaints and grievances.

Complete other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Monitor attendance, unauthorized overtime, overall job performance, and efficiency of the packaging team.

Make employee corrective action and/or procedure change recommendations to the Operations Manager as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to operate a forklift.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make decisions without supervision.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

3 years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, or a related field.

Experience in a supervisory role is a plus.

Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols related to packaging and material handling.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to routinely lift and/or move to 50 lbs.

Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle/feel items, reach with hands and arms, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.

Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions.
