Your Impactful Role

As a Patient Account Representative, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare team, managing accounts receivables, resolving past-due accounts, and ensuring efficient claims processing. Join us to make a meaningful impact in healthcare and advance your career.

Account Resolution: Proactively resolve accounts receivable issues with third-party payors and patients, ensuring that balances are managed effectively and daily department AR goals are met.

AR Insights: Identify and communicate trends, denial issues, or irregularities affecting AR resolution to supervisors and team members, providing recommendations for resolution.

Coding Proficiency: Review, analyze, and code medical documentation accurately, including ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT codes for various medical subspecialties.

Charge Capture: Ensure the accurate and timely capture of charges for both clinic and hospital-based services.

Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on third-party billing, reimbursement, the clinic's financial policies, and industry developments.

Reporting: Prepare and submit daily productivity reports as required, contributing to the efficient operation of the department.

Compliance: Fulfill annual compliance and regulatory requirements as applicable, maintaining the highest standards of healthcare practices.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

A minimum of 1 year of accounts receivable experience in a medical practice, ambulatory surgery center, or hospital setting.

Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and experience with modifiers is preferred.

Familiarity with CMS 1500/UB04 claim form completion, knowledge of Medicare, managed care, and commercial insurance products and plans.

Understanding of physician billing, health insurance coverage, remittance advice, and appeals.

Typing speed of 55 wpm and proficiency with calculators.

It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods of time and to work in an environment that can be very stressful. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to deal with aggressive, hostile, and sometimes irrational behavior of patients and family members and can respond to all patients in a calm and professional manner.
