Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members. In Special Care Nurseries, the Patient Care Technician is responsible for assisting with the transport of healthy, uncompromised newborns from Labor and Delivery to the newborn admission nursery, cleaning equipment used on infants in the Special Care Nursery, and ordering patient care supplies from the storeroom and stocking the Special Care Nursery areas.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Two (2) or more years of experience as a PCT, including 6 months at Northside as a PCT II.
Current BLS card (CPR)
High School graduate or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant Course.
