They are responsible for managing strategic relationships within the enterprise relating to ongoing, multi-year programs relevant to a business unit's transportation network. The Planning Services Senior Analyst deploys and uses decision support tools by leveraging advanced problem solving techniques and technology to provide thought leadership for improved network effectiveness across multiple phases. This position leads complex process development or improvement and involvement in strategic communication with stakeholders. The Planning Services Senior Analyst develops and enhances complex models and processes supporting UPS corporate vision to reduce transportation network cost, increase network efficiency and grow profitable revenue.Responsibilities and Duties:· Analyzes optimization-modeling needs to determine necessary data and process improvement.· Retrieves and analyzes large sets of data using excel, SQL, Python and other data management and analysis systems.· Builds ETL processes to meet the needs for optimization decision support programs.· Designs and implements reporting solutions in Power Bi to enable stakeholders to manage planning processes and make effective decisions.· Take ownership of optimization decision support programs and reporting services to ensure accuracy and efficient stakeholder planning.· Automates processes where appropriate to increase process efficiency and accuracy.· Audits and tests new processes to verify they operate successfully.· Acts as liaison to UPS functional groups to coordinate key issues in transportation network plans.· Ensures processes are documented in proper formation to share, improve, and duplicate process information overtime.Knowledge and Skills:· Identifies current and future needs of the customer or business; understands how business needs dictate the project’s requirements, project direction, business objectives, and resource allocation; makes recommendations on the solutions-design phase of the project· Specifies facts, research, and perspectives necessary to make projections; analyzes statistics and qualitative information within specified parameters; researches trends and conditions used to make projections· Demonstrates understanding of implementation objectives, project plan, and one's role within a project; participates in the implementation of a project; provides timely, thorough and concise updates for area of responsibility; identifies areas of risk and properly communicates them to the project manager· Demonstrates a basic knowledge of risk management fundamentals· Demonstrates a detailed understanding of supply chain concepts; makes recommendations for changes to solve supply chain problems· Leverages technological knowledge to achieve business objectives; resolves technological issues impeding work; adapts technological information, facts, or data to varying situations or groups; recommends changes to technological approach based upon knowledge of trends and best practices· Independently conducts standard analyses to identify problems in methods, processes, or workflow; interprets results of analyses; recommends solutions to address identified requirements, problems, or inefficiencies· Identifies common problems with current work designs; specifies requirements for new work designs; modifies or adjusts existing work methods, processes, and flows to resolve operations failuresOther Criteria:Job Grade: 20GShift: Monday to FridayMust be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourselfLast day to apply is August/20/2024 EODEmployee Type:PermanentUPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.Other Criteria:UPS is an equal opportunity employer.
