Reporting to the VP, Product Platform Leader, the Project Manager - NPD will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing new product development projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role involves coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements for specific product development efforts.
Team Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, quality assurance) to ensure timely execution of the project.
Task Management: Break down the NPD process into manageable tasks and assign them to the appropriate team members.
Budget Management: Monitor and control the project's budget, ensuring that the project stays within financial constraints, and drive contingencies.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project-specific risks that may affect delivery, such as technical challenges or supplier issues.
Progress Tracking: Track the progress of the project using tools like Gantt charts, KPIs, or project management software, ensuring the project is on schedule via a defined cadence.
Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency around progress, risks, and any changes, as well as sharing best practices and scenarios for approval.
Quality Control: Ensure that the product meets all specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements during development. Ensure compliance with TKE's Product Development Process and confirm deliverable quality.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during development, coordinating with team members to adjust timelines or reallocate resources if needed, working in full cooperation with the quality team.
Delivery: Ensure the final product is delivered on time, on budget, and meets the required quality and performance standards.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus.Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in new product development, preferably within the elevator or related industry.
Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
