Responsibilities of jobs in this family include supporting or conducting scientific research and the collection, analysis, and reporting of data. Typical functions include grants administration, theoretical and applied research, human subject compliance, and laboratory support services.Critical Skills/knowledge

Skill in data summaries/graphics and quantitative analysis using simple statistical methods like the t-test/chi square through statistical computational software like SAS / SPSS /R etc. and EXCEL

Basic conceptual understanding of relational database systems and/or platforms like REDcap

Ability to learn how to build data structure(s) using database platforms for research data based on study design and protocol

Ability to develop specific data codes/codebook and dictionaries for the built-in data structures

Skill in communication both orally and in writing

Ability to work collegially with others and take instructions from senior study biostatistician and bioinformatician as part of a collaborative team

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Experience:

2-4 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree.

Clinical experience.

Collaboratively develops methods for data collection and provide simple analyses in a timely manner.

Works closely with study biostatistics and bioinformatics teams to help develop data dictionaries and vocabularies to inform the development of study databases.

Manages data and research study applications in REDCap and regularly tracks the content of the data coming into the database to inform future processes

Helps develop and implement regular and timey Quality Control (QC) protocols and procedures for incoming data.

Works closely with study biostatistics and bioinformatics teams to help develop/maintain data structure and data analyses

Develops and updates regulatory, Institutional Review Board ( IRB ), and consent forms/documents

Assists in the development and formulation of project reports, studies, and other technical documentation

Attend weekly team meetings, monthly webinars, and conference calls with RCMI Coordination Center and other partners to discuss evaluations, progress and ensure effective conduct of communications across the networks

Basic knowledge of statistical software and strong technology procedures

Assists in planning and conducting research studies and summarize findings
