At OnBrand, the UI Designer wears a lot of hats. You need to be a user experience expert, systems thinker, curious visionary, and a trusted team player all rolled into one. You will join a growing design team to develop innovative solutions that work across a variety of digital touchpoints. You will be the user advocate from concept to launch, understanding target audiences' needs, tasks, and goals and translating them into digital experiences. Ideally, you are a problem solver with a passion for translating complex problems into elegant design solutions. Is that you? If so, keep reading.What you’ll be responsible for:

Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.

Create and develop look and feel of digital experiences, designing the color, typography and overall visual aesthetic

Collaborate with strategy to transform ideas, business opportunities, and research into tangible assets that provide clear, usable, and desirable outcomes for users.

Lead the design of new acquisition pages for both American Express and it’s cobranded experiences, translating strategy and marketing goals into elegant visual experiences

Work closely with engineers and QA to ensure that designs are technically feasible and meet the needs of customers and marketing partners.

Craft interaction models, workflows, screen designs, and visual details that drive conversion and convey the value of American Express and its partners.

Collaborate with design peers and cross functional teams to build consensus around your work.

Partner with strategists, copywriters and other designers from concept to completion

Ability to work independently, self-manage, knowing when to manage up and across.

Clearly articulate and present concepts to internal colleagues and marketing leadership

Maintain, guide, and know when to push the boundaries of design systems and patterns.

Actively participate in ideation, development and design ideation

Strong understanding of typographical hierarchy, color usage, grid systems and how they apply to responsive design.

Accessibility champion.

Use analytical skills and strategic perspective to identify trends & recommend solutions that will help improve comprehension, usability and effectiveness of proposed design solutions

Help ideate and create innovative concepts that meet the business objectives and requirements while delivering future-thinking, customer-focused designs

Speaking multiple “languages” while working closely with creative, product, business, strategy and tech from intake to launch and beyond – this means being able to see the big picture, and figure out the small details simultaneously.

A successful candidate will have:

A strong craft practitioner that has experience working within best practices for responsive design

Strong proficiency in Figma, Ability to build out design systems, educate other designers on best practices for execution and prototyping.

A customer-first mindset with a good balance of design needs and business acumen

Ability to simplify and turn complex interactions into intuitive user experiences

Understanding of CMS systems such as AEM.

Ability to draw on multiple inputs (reporting data, metrics, qualitative and quantitative insights, and stakeholder/business direction) to arrive at customer-focused recommendations.

Experience working with content strategists, account managers, project managers and engineers to see your work through from concept to completion.

Knowledge of accessibility best practices.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.

High degree of organization, individual initiative and personal accountability

Comfortable working with team members spread across multiple locations and time zones, in a matrix environment.

Able to work independently in product pods or within a larger group and proactively looks to socialize and review work.

5 years of experience in User Experience, Interaction Design, or experiencepreferred.

Experience working independently

Knowledge/Technical Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in a design related field preferred

Experience creating style guides, pattern libraries, and other design solutions that drive design across large organizations.

Have a current understanding of responsive design, mobile interfaces and content management systems

Be well read in the masters: Krug, Morville/Rosenfeld, Cooper, Nielsen, etc.

Have strong computer skills and firm grasp of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Prototyping tools, the Microsoft Office product suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Experience building design systems and working within a CMS.

Has been the design key contributor on several major enterprise-level web site projects, from start to finish

Shows examples of successful execution of upper funnel experienceson several major enterprise-level web site development efforts

QualificationsSalary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
