Coordinate and manage engineering tasks, ensuring collaboration with AFLCMC organizations and external agencies, including facilities, personnel, security, IT, foreign disclosure, and public affairs.

Facilitate smooth day-to-day operations by engaging with building managers and test organizations.

Engineering Support:

Provide support for the acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment.

Offer technical assistance related to Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E).

Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Variance (RFVs), maintaining system configuration baselines.

Participate in Technology Insertion discussions, Configuration Control Boards (CCB), and various technical and programmatic reviews.

System Lifecycle Management:

Support the analysis of alternatives, investment strategies, design, manufacturing, and end-of-life processes for weapon systems.

Apply engineering principles to enhance DoD, AF, and joint service weapon system operations.

Assist in translating user requirements into system requirements, supporting overall system design and architecture.

Requirements Development and Analysis:

Assist in developing system concepts and conducting trade-off studies for proposed designs.

Support the review and analysis of proposals, specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).

Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and system audits.

System Design and Integration:

Assist with the evaluation of system design baselines and interoperability requirements.

Provide systems and subsystems integration support during acquisition, development, and verification phases.

Support system, subsystem, and component testing, providing recommendations for improvement.

Risk and Schedule Management:

Support the development and evaluation of Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).

Assist in risk assessment, including technical, schedule, and cost performance risks.

Contribute to risk management efforts in alignment with AFI 63-101, Integrated Life Cycle Management.

Document Development and Evaluation:

Support the creation and evaluation of key engineering documents, including System Requirements Documents, Systems Engineering Plans, and risk assessments.

Provide technical planning support for aircrew and maintenance training systems.

Assist in the development and maintenance of security documentation, including Security Classification Guides (SCGs) and Program Protection Plans (PPPs).

Technical Support:

Provide technical guidance and coordination for AFLCMC system programs.

Monitor technological trends and assess technical risks, recommending options for consideration.

Assist in feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and the integration of evolving systems into weapon platforms.

Program Protection and Risk Management:

Support the Program Protection Program (PPP) by identifying critical program information, analyzing system vulnerabilities, and recommending security countermeasures.

Participate in security working groups and maintain the PPP database.

Collaboration and Communication:

Interface and coordinate with management and functional counterparts across various levels.

Support committees and boards in resolving engineering challenges and implementing program decisions.

Prepare briefings and reports to support program management and acquisition efforts.

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

Must be a US Citizen

10 years’ relevant experience and Master’s degree or better in engineering

12 years’ relevant experience and Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Active DoD Secret
