POSITION SUMMARY: Under general direction from the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager is primarily responsible for assisting in supervising, coordinating, and directing the daily activities of their store employees. The Assistant Store Manager position will include on the job training to develop candidates for future Store Managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists in coordinating and managing available manpower and resources to ensure a customer first attitude, while remaining sensitive and responsive to unscheduled problems.
2. Helps to ensure all store employees always operate within CQ Pacific guidelines, policies, and procedures.
3. Assists in maintaining overall security, cleanliness, and professional appearance of store facilities.
4. Handles customer disputes to ensure that resolutions are made in a timely manner.
5. Assists in ensuring maximum efficiency of resources and the highest possible level of profitability.
6. Provides input on employee achievement, conduct, areas for improvement, and training requirements.
7. All other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
2. Two (2) years’ experience in a management position preferred.
3. Two (2) years’ experience in retail operations, automotive preferred.
4. A valid Drivers’ License with a good driving record is required.
5. Excellent communication skills and proper business etiquette required.
6. Good working knowledge of MS Office programs required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Walking: Moves about on foot often up and down stairs.
2. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.
3. Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous automotive parts, tools, and batteries.
4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
7. Vision: Reads paperwork, employment files, and records on the computer.
8. Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.
9. Sitting: Sits at desk for extended periods.
10. Lifting: Up to 60 lbs. daily, frequent exertion.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
2. Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment with occasional warehouse requirements.
