Hawaii Technology Academy, a public charter school, seeks candidates for the position of Education Assistant (Ewa Beach Campus) for the 24-25 school year. This position is located at HTA's Ewa Beach, Oahu Campus. Candidates should have a minimum of a high school diploma and experience working with students ages 5-17. A bachelor’s degree and previous experience working in a school environment are preferred but not required.
Duties of the Education Assistant include but are not limited to:
Providing assistance to a professional educator by learning and performing a variety of non-instructional and supportive tasks
Receiving training in instructional/counseling-related tasks
Performing other related duties as assigned, including clerical tasks
Under the direction of a special education teacher, assists Elementary School special needs students with academic and/or behavioral/emotional difficulties
Demonstrates ability to engage in elementary to middle school level coursework
Demonstrates ability to establish positive rapport with students
Assists with classroom management both within resource and inclusion settings
Assists with record keeping (ie. data tracking, provide input relevant to IEP, etc)
This is a full-time or part-time HGEA 10-month position reporting to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-3:00pm. The position follows the school year schedule with holidays, school vacation and summer off. The salary range is $32,000 - $40,000 per year, depending on experience.
