CAFE JAI at the Whalers Village Food Court in Ka`anapali is hiring a Catering Manager.
CAFE JAI is the newest kitchen on the block! This is your opportunity to take your passion and experience in the culinary field and grow with a company from the beginning. Servicing both catering and kitchen operations, Cafe Jai relies on great teamwork and communication to succeed in a high paced kitchen setting. We are here to build and maintain a strong team/family full of unique, hardworking, motivated individuals.
Areas of responsibilities:
- Manage/oversee kitchen operation in all phases – catering operation, placing food orders, opening/closing duties, creating par list for food rotation and storage, food preparation/sanitation, recipe adherence, plating experience, and service.
- Manage workflow of Line/Prep Cooks, Cashiers and Dishwashers.
- Willingness to perform other duties as needed to support the business.
Lead Cook qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ kitchen experience preferred
- Work under fast and sometimes stressful situations
- Be able to multi-task, work clean and be efficient
- Has an interest in learning new culinary skills and recipes
- Communicate effectively and work as a team member
- Food handlers’ card and other certifications as required by federal/state agencies.
