We are looking for a Kauai Lead (Manager) with a desire to share handcrafted, farm-to-table, taro donuts, delicious beverages, and delightful experiences with all those in search of the holey grail of donuts! This position is responsible for the overall success of our two food truck locations (Kapa’a and Hanalei). We also have a commissary kitchen in Kapa'a. The position will be supported buy a Kitchen Lead, Team Lead, and Shift Leads.

Job Overview:

The Shop Lead is responsible for operationalizing Holey Grail Leadership Values to support a positive, productive workplace environment and lead the overall success of their retail location and team. Responsibilities include implementing values-based strategies to build and maintain a positive work environment that includes hiring, training, and developing all shop team members, ensuring all our guests experience exceptional hospitality, and operating your location to be successful in meeting or exceeding financial and operational goals.

Team Development & Leadership:

-Build, develop, inspire, and retain an incredible team, regularly giving and receiving positive and constructive feedback and coaching your shop team to perform and be their best

-Focus hiring on team members who excel at customer relations - enjoy talking with guests, positive friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills and those with weekend availability.

-Conduct hands- on store training and check-ins for all team members, understanding and adapting to individual learning styles

-Monitor team member progress and completion on training platforms

-Provide a minimum of quarterly one-on-one’s for seasoned team members consistent culture checks to give and receive feedback, ensure team members feel respected, safe and are working collaboratively

-Exemplify servant leadership - support focuses primarily on the team member lifecycle growth, health and well-being of , connect individuals to resources and referrals through our EAP program, work alongside teams as a partner in the workpeople and the communities to which they belong.

Business & Shop Operations:

- Manage day to day shop operations to drive strong and ever-improving performance to meet or exceed financial KPIs and shop goals

-Master each shop level role; consistently role modeling exceptional skill and attention to detail of preparation, operations, cleanliness, and guest experience

-Ensure high standards of product quality, taste, and aesthetics for every donut, drink, and food item served in your shop

-Hands-on shift work, not only to help the team in busy moments but to stay constantly connected to the heart of our work and find ways to continually improve it

-Ensure every guest at your shop has a wonderful hospitable experience, and continually find ways to coach and celebrate your team in to exceeding guest expectations

-Spend time each day positively engaging guests and inquiring about their experience

-Take the lead on solving immediate issues and doing damage control, ensuring every guest leaves satisfied

-Ensure poor customer experience reviews are dealt with in a timely and professional manner including repair work with the guest, verbal and written warnings, and termination of team members who do not consistently meet guest experience expectations after warnings and coaching.

-Create and maintain a thoughtful work schedule for your team that balances individual, team, and shop needs while meeting our goals for efficiency and guest experience

-Foster a positive work environment through continuous growth and development

-Ensure efficient ordering and inventory, ensuring that we can always meet our guests' requests while limiting waste

-Oversee bi-weekly payroll with completion of timesheet edits, time off requests, tip pooling, and final payroll processing

-Facilitate product launches, promotions, and occasional location events

-Uphold compliance of company, local, state, labor and health department policies for all team members

-Communicate essential information in a timely manner and maintain confidentiality when appropriate

-Demonstrate leadership through cleanliness and organization of interior and exterior of location, facilitating preventative cleaning for equipment and shop

-Provide timely documentation of feedback given to team members, time and attendance, status changes, injuries or safety issues, and other required documentation

-Monitor break times and ensure that team members take adequate breaks per local laws and regulations.

-Take the lead to serve and positively engage influencers and media

-Collaboration with HG Support Team, Vendors & Community + Vendors

-Collaborate with Director of Operations to strategize implementation of product launches, shop goals, areas of opportunity, and financial performance goals

-Collaborate with Human Resources department on team, guest, and personnel matters

-Collaborate with the Holey Grail marketing and support teams to creatively engage influencers, your community, drive new customer growth, and deepen relationships with returning guests

-Give feedback and communicate challenges to the Director of Operations and other support team members (operations, HR, culinary, marketing, supply chain)

-Collaborate and coordinate with vendors for ordering, facilities, and operational needs

-Give feedback and participate in improving training with Cafe Success

-Conduct community outreach to improve traffic to your location. This could include attending community meetings, working with travel bureaus, doing outreach to hotels, event coordinators, engaging in festivals

Qualifications:

2+ years of retail/hospitality experience with a strong preference for coffee, food & beverage

2+ years of retail/hospitality management experience leading a team of 10+ people preferred

A strong understanding of a profit and loss statement and knowledge of how to manage and impact it

Confidence using computer programs, especially Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, Calendar, etc.)

A deep passion for food, beverage, and amazing guest experiences

and/or holidays

Available to work weekends, two out of three weekend shifts days (Fri. Sat. & Sun.)

Available to work opening and closing shifts (minimum one opening and one closing shift per week)

Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs

Comfortable operating commercial kitchen equipment such as dough mixers, blenders, and donut fryer with hot oil

Manager levelExisting Food Handler Certification required a plus

Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

Salary: $72,000 plus bonus structure.

This an exempt position, not eligible for overtime pay or to earn tips.
