Job DescriptionLocation: Chicago, ILHospital: RUSH University Medical CenterDepartment: System PMOWork Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)Shift: Shift 1Work Schedule: 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 5:00:00 PM)Summary:The Program Manager will lead a collection of project implementations, providing program-level oversight to cross-functional teams, ensuring that individual initiatives within the program are aligned, successful, and on track to delivery intended outcomes and value. The Program Manager will provide tactical leadership and guidance to project managers and operational/technical project team members, ensuring that roles are clearly defined, scope/schedule/budget/value remain on track, and that the RUSH execution model is well adopted and optimized within each team. The Program Manager will work under the guidance of the System PMO Director and will partner with other operational, clinical and technology leaders to ensure that teams are successful and that organizational best practices are consistently applied. The role will also support operational leaders along with the System PMO in planning and executing organizational transformation plans related to Rush’s strategic goals.Responsibilities: Manages one or more rapidly evolving system implementation programs that are aligned with the RUSH strategy and roadmap. Ensures that execution is planned, managed, and executed in a highly consumer/user-centric fashion, per RUSH’s system PMO initiative delivery standards. Provides day to day oversight of multiple delivery teams comprising the assigned program, ensuring resources are adequately assigned, roles and priorities are aligned, and teams are delivering on their assigned responsibilities. Ensures progress and value tracking are performed for projects/initiatives within the assigned program and reports progress/value up to the relevant portfolio or executive leaders. Supports the System PMO Director and executive leadership team in preparing program status updates, identifying, and escalating issues/risks, and engaging RUSH leaders in change management. Prepare and present program-level updates to the executive sponsor and other impacted stakeholders. Supports the System PMO Director and executive leadership team in planning and execution of the systemwide strategic planning and delivery of identified system initiatives. Facilitates collaborative working relationships across multidisciplinary project teams and resources, including IS, operations, analytics, legal/compliance, and other key stakeholders. Ensures RUSH standard methodologies are well adopted within the assigned program and project teams. Empowers execution teams and resources to identify and implement improvements within the methodology and incorporating those improvements back into the RUSH PMO toolkit. Contributes to the design and continuous improvement of the RUSH delivery oversight and execution model, identifying and incorporating improvements across teams. Partners with operational and clinical leaders in change management planning and execution in support of the assigned program. Manages initiatives, customer expectations and business priorities within the assigned program. Collaborates with business partners to provide advice on metrics, tools, and outcomes models for assigned program and projects Contributes to a motivated work environment by working effectively to achieve common goalsOther information: At least 3 years in large scale program and/or project management experience overseeing enterprise implementations preferably within a health system. Requires expert, demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts. Requires ability to assess systemwide needs for products and design services to meet those needs. Working knowledge of related initiatives and an understanding the impact on the organization of such initiatives. Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks. Demonstrated effective writing and communications skills. Experience in healthcare, product development, strategy, or related field. Agile scrum experience highly preferred. Attention to detail; ability to track and communicate work at multiple levels of granularity. Intellectual curiosity and strong critical thinking skills with ability to synthesize disparate sources of data. Entrepreneurial spirit and drive. Willingness to take risks, to advocate for new ideas, coupled with a commitment to measurement and accountability. Strong persuasion and negotiations skills, and the ability to engage, challenge and influence one's thinking to effect change throughout an organization. Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards; personal and professional integrity above reproach Strong knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.Preferred Job Qualifications: Experience leading a team of technology professionals. Hospital, ambulatory, or medical center operations experience. Strong knowledge of definitions and uses of data, financial and reporting systems, information flow, and data architecture. Competency in query functions and language, and basic data modeling. Project Management Professional (PMP)/Scrum Master certification.Physical Demands:Competencies: Knowledge of all aspects of computing and communications including hardware infrastructure, networking, software, operations, and disaster recovery. Understands how projects relate to other business strategies and initiatives.
