Duties

Adhere strictly to mixing procedures and directions as specified by supervisors and on Mix Sheets.

Be cognizant of and follow safe handling instructions in Mix Sheets, Chemical Safety Manual and/or Material Safety Data Sheets. Learn and follow instructions for lock out, tag out and other necessary safety training as presented by the Company.

Gain familiarity with basic operating procedures and maintenance requirements of mixing, measuring, and testing equipment.

Complete production/mix reports; perform and record quality tests as required for each batch.

Identifies nonconformities (based on batch testing results) and receives appropriate guidance from the Chief Operations Officer, Chief Executive Officer, or Technical Director to dispose of nonconforming product or implement corrective actions.

Operate a forklift to transport chemicals and batches to desired locations.

Assist in general plant maintenance and cleaning.

Mixers must also be able to perform the job duties of Production Laborer.

Special Clothing Requirements

All mixers must wear steel toe shoes that cover the ankles. Mixers will be given a $25.00 annual allowance toward these shoes.

All mixers must maintain an extra change of clothing at the plant. This should include shirt, pants, shoes (do not have to be safety shoes), socks and underclothes.

Mixers must wear long pants at all times. Shorts are not acceptable in the mixing room.

All mixers will be issued safety equipment for safe handling of the chemicals. This equipment remains the property of company, but will be for the exclusive use of the mixer while employed. Lost or damaged equipment should be reported immediately for replacement. Excessive loss or damage will be the financial responsibility of the mixer.

Qualification Requirements

Education:

High School / GED Preferred

Experience:

Display ability to drive a forklift.

Skills:

Motivated to work independently or as part of a team, integrating various personalities.

Display strong math skills as necessary to accurately create batches (add, subtract, multiply, and weigh chemicals in batch).

Additional:

Maintain a high attendance rate and a positive attitude.

Keen attention for detail to record accurate quality tests.

Lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis (many times daily), up to 85 lbs on a less frequent basis.

Pass a pre-employment drug screen as well as random drug screens if directed by the Company.

New batchmakers must complete a post offer physical and pulmonary function test (for respirator use) allowing the Company (or medical representative) to assess whether the individual can perform the essential job functions.
