Sheet Metal Break Operator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Break Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in brake presses, shear presses, and a strong attention to detail with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities:

● Machine Operation:

Set up and operate various shear machines to bend, form, and cut metal components according to work orders.

Adjust machine settings, such as pressure and angles, to achieve desired bends and dimensions.

Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and quality of finished products.

● Tooling and Setup:

Select appropriate tooling based on material type and thickness.

Perform machine setup and adjustments for different production runs.

Ensure proper alignment and calibration of production equipment.

● Quality Control:

Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications.

Identify and correct any defects or deviations in the bending process.

● Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform basic routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.

Assist in troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical and technical issues related to equipment.

● Continuous Improvement:

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety in the equipment operation.

Suggest and implement process improvements to reduce waste and improve workflow.

● Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

● High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.

● Minimum of 1 years of experience in a sheet metal fabricating environment.

● Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and material properties.

● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

● Strong communication and teamwork skills.

● Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

● Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

● Proficiency in operating press brake machines, and other metal fabrication tools

● Experience in quality inspection techniques using calipers and other measuring instruments

● Knowledge of welding processes for sheet metal assembly
