In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).Job SummaryThe logistics engineer develops, implements, and continuously improves all logistics processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.Additional Info

This position is located in Morton, IL and may offer domestic relocation

Travel is expected approximately 25% of the time, typically domestic

What You Will Do

Warehouse automation design & implementation; data purification & analysis; warehouse storage design & manufacturing point-of-use (POU) design; machinery & equipment design and procurement; workforce & equipment planning; logistics process design; inventory transfer & rearrangement planning; and integrating supply chain knowledge into warehouse design

Applying lean manufacturing principles to assist with the implementation of efficient and competitive logistics solutions.

Coordinating with engineering, manufacturing operations, and supply chain functions to define critical parameters and develop plans for process control and improvements.

Developing and maintaining the internal logistics process engineering standards, knowledge, and tools; Assuring their implementation in current and new operations.

Evaluating logistics processes and workflows, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions for process-related concerns.

What You Have

Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.

Materials Handling and Management: Knowledge of material handling and management in plants; ability to perform, monitor and improve processes related to storage, transportation and handling of raw and hazardous materials.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering

Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.

Experience in any of the following areas: Vendor Selection, Procurement, Project Management, Automation Design & Implementation

Experience using AutoCAD
