With environmental sustainability and optimization at the forefront of our data center design and operations, we continue to grow and evolve as we meet the ever-changing business demands that hold Microsoft as a world-class cloud provider.The Senior Director, New Site Integration & Deployment is a critical role within the Data Center Operations team reporting to the VP, Datacenter Operations Americas. In this role, you will be our voice and partner with peer groups across multiple organizations and manage a team of experts to drive excellence in Network Operations, Edge Site Operations, the Integration and Operational Readiness of new data center sites, and our AI Deployment Program. You will interact and maintain relationships with various stakeholders across our organization. You will use your keen technical, business, and financial management skills to manage our operating costs effectively, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and ecological responsibility. Site Integration and Operational Readiness

Manage the integration from design/construction to operations of new data centers driving excellence in data center design standards, construction, commissioning, utilization, while ensuring seamless onboarding of newly launched facilities into the field operations portfolio.

Network Operations

Support new data center site core network infrastructure installation, network device deployment readiness, hardware troubleshooting and process and tooling improvements.

Manage large-scale network projects such as upgrading to the next generation of cloud infrastructure from conception through completion, ensuring on-time and defect-free delivery within budget constraints.

Responsible for Edge Data Center Operations daily support to provide best in class safety, security, governance and infrastructure services at all Edge locations across Americas

AI Deployments

Manage Deployment Execution Team responsible for AI end-to-end equipment installs in our data centers to meet the rapidly growing customer demand. The team provides a unified platform including Governance, Risk & Issue Management, Program Communication and Executive Reporting.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications :

High School Diploma or equivalent AND 10+ years experience in a production, mission-critical, 24x7 operations environment.

5+ years experience leading, directly managing, and influencing a diverse organization of full-time employees across multiple disciplines and platforms.

5+ years of experience managing large vendor multi-year contracts and operating entities.

Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.

Knowlege of physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling, etc.).

Knowledge of critical environment concepts and infrastructure (e.g., Electrical Distribution, Mechanical Cooling Systems, etc.).

Ability to lead cross functional efforts to gain alignment and deliver maximum business impact.

Executive presence and ability to influence technical peers and senior leaders.

Ability to build and lead highly effective teams.

Understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.

Awareness of IT Service Operations fundamentals and principles (ITIL, MOF, OLA/SLA, CSI, etc.).

Project or program management experience and certification(s) (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, PMI, etc.).

Data Center Operations Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,800 - $267,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,800 - $294,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
