Description Our company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team. This role involves contacting customers and informing them of their overdue debts and reporting back to credit agencies. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for serving as a liaison between creditors and customers in order to resolve financial disputes.Key Responsibilities:
Contact customers in order to collect debts and overdue payments
Negotiate payment plans to make it easier for customers to pay off their debts
Keep accurate records of all communication with customers
Work with the legal department if a customer fails to respond to our efforts
Inform and advise customers about their debt situations and their financial responsibilities
Report back to credit agencies about customers' overall financial status
Requirements
A minimum of two years' experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role in financial services.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to comply with law and rules regarding debt collection.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and previous experience with databases and collection software.
High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in finance or relevant field will be considered an asset.
Demonstrate a calm, professional demeanor when addressing customer concerns.
Outstanding multitasking abilities and detail orientation.
