Description We are in search of an Accounting Clerk to join our team located in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will primarily be tasked with managing client accounts, processing customer applications, and maintaining meticulous records. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity in the electrical industry.Responsibilities: Ensure accurate and timely processing of client credit applications. Maintain and manage detailed customer credit records. Act as a backup to Accounts Receivable (AR) and potentially Accounts Payable (AP) as required. Handle licensing and permitting for upcoming electrical projects. Resolve customer inquiries efficiently and promptly. Work with a sense of urgency and prioritize tasks effectively. Utilize strong communication skills to ask essential questions and clarify any uncertainties. Continually learn and adapt to new industry practices and procedures. Utilize skills in 'Business licenses', 'Building Permits', 'Accounts Receivable (AR)' to enhance job performance. Foster an environment of continuous learning and excitement for acquiring new skills. Requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Proven experience in a similar role such as Accounting Clerk, or Accounts Receivable Clerk A solid understanding of business licenses and building permits Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary Must have strong numerical and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy Must have a good understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
