We are Greenwood Village South, a NON PROFIT upscale senior living facility in Greenwood. I emphasize our Non Profit status because it really defines who we are and what we do. We don't slash budgets and underpay people like many of our for profit competitors. Our community is owned by the residents who live here. Google us! Look at our reviews there and on sites like Glassdoor. This is a great place to work.
Dining Services employs close to 100 employees on campus serving over 400 seniors in Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing. We are currently recruiting for a Pat Time Breakfast Cook position. The position is:
PT AM Cook
Monday-Friday, 6:00-10:30am (22.5 hours weekly)
Schedules posted 3-4 weeks in advance, opportunities to pick up extra shifts
Pay starts at $17.50/hr plus up to $2/hr additional based on experience. You'll be working in our Independent Living kitchen, which runs like any restaurant you've been to. You'll be responsible for making short order breakfast for 20-30 residents every morning (yes, that's all!) as well as some light catering prep (pastries for meetings on occasion) and executing our Meals on Wheels program. Basically you'll use leftovers from the previous day to make 20-25 meals every day and bag them up by route. The process takes about a half hour. You'll also help the prep cook towards the end of your shift for anything extra (sometimes we have big events, or complicated menus) but this will be a very flexible part of your job.
This isn't like most kitchens you'll have worked in, we're not relentlessly pushing constantly. You'll have time to stop and smell the roses and we're always open to suggestions for improvement or new ideas for service from our staff.
Our ideal candidate has previous short order breakfast cooking experience. We want someone reliable with transportation and the ability to get here on time consistently, since covering a 6am shift is always a nightmare! We will be very flexible with days off as you need them, we have enough staff to cover requests consistently.
Our dining services program is run by individuals with culinary and pastry degrees, a closet full of culinary awards, and decades of experience in the industry. We love to innovate and try new things, but we understand our population and try to cater to their needs and tastes. Our cooks are the heart of our operation and make sure that the food that goes to our residents matches their nutritional needs. You'll work less hard than you ever would in a restaurant, but you'll get way more appreciation from people who are genuinely thankful for you.
Please send a brief resume and feel free to ask any questions. For those candidates who we identify as strong, we will send a link to apply on our main site. Please also feel free to reach out to me via text, although email is preferred. Thank you so much for your time and I hope to meet you soon!
