And, beyond colorant, we offer specialized coatings and additives to protect and enhance other products enduring the elements.At Colorbiotics, we pioneer the science behind landscape colorant, recreation surfaces, asphalt additives, and the equipment that makes them even better.We are seeking an Assistant Controller to work in our Ames, IA office. This position will provide financial, accounting, reporting, analysis, and leadership support to the business.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Implement and ensure compliance for all controlling policies.

Manage the monthly closing process adhering to all timelines and reporting to be accurate.

Ensure accurate and timely completion of external reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly, and annually).

Ensure proper general ledger coding of all transactions and approve (or reject) transactions as required.

Manage all aspects of product costing standards for the site.

Prepare and analyze manufacturing reports for cost center reporting, benchmark metrics, purchase price variance for raw materials, process order settlements, process order variances, work in process, inventory levels & turns (working capital management), DOH, velocity, shipping costs, returns, obsolete inventory, labor costing, capital assets, etc; make recommendations for corrective actions.

Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual plant expense forecasts and track vs. actual vs. target.

Direct and coordinate the annual budget activities for the plant.

Improve inventory accuracy by managing inventory control systems including cycle counts & physical inventories; maintain records to document and explain variances.

Conduct periodic reviews of common operations business practices and adopt the best demonstrated practice when possible.

Assist plant management with the identification of and participate in cost savings improving projects and monitor.

Support external audit requests

Manage and support the equipment and parts inventory processes including the subcontract strategy, margin management, tracking of warranties, and technical service billings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

3+ years accounting experience

Cost accounting knowledge and experience

Detail orientated

SAP experience preferred

Strong technical accounting skills

Able to interact with and support all functions of the business

Strong organization and interpersonal skills
