If so, join the Human Resource Bureau at the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) on our Employee Relations Team!As an Employee Relations Partner, you will join a dynamic HR team and contribute your experience and knowledge toward fulfilling our Mission -Making Lives Better Through Transportation. Join us as we work to make a difference in our employees’ lives! This position is required to be in the office. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Providing support, consultation, and resolution guidance for employees and leaders in the agency

Interpreting and developing policies/procedures related to employee relations

Analyzing workplace environment complaints and recommending appropriate resolutions

Conducting investigations, which involve interviewing and documenting employee observations

Preparing presentations and providing training on key employee relations issues based on agency goals and HR strategy

Serving as the agency coordinator for unemployment

To excel in this position, you will need:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills you can easily adapt to a variety of audiences to ensure comprehension

Ability to problem solve through a variety of topics and situations

Commitment to producing high-quality, detailed work

Understanding of how to analyze and use data

Ability to manage individuals through stressful situations

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree.

A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience in technical or professional human resources work, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience.

Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full-time work performing technical human resources work.
