Cost Accountant

Description We are seeking a Cost Accountant in the Machinery Manufacturing industry, based in BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky. This role involves managing the financial and accounting aspects of our manufacturing processes, ensuring accurate cost analysis, and overseeing inventory management. You will be working in a dynamic environment where precision and attention to detail are crucial.Responsibilities: Efficiently process and analyze inventory costs. Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy of financial information. Oversee the management of inventory, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Implement and manage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline accounting functions. Handle Accounts Payable (AP) tasks, ensuring all financial obligations are met in a timely manner. Conduct cost analysis for excess & obsolete inventory. Participate in the company's budget processes, contributing to the development of financial strategies. Oversee cash activity, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. Regularly update and maintain accurate customer credit records.Requirements

Manufacturing experience (1-3 years)

Review APCs issued by Document Control and roll costs as necessary

Investigate cost issues and questions that arise

Conduct annual cost roll for the entire company

Responsible for monthly accounting close process, including journal entry preparation, inventory reconciliations and other account reconciliations

Assist Plant Controller and Ops Directors with variance analysis, forecasts, budgets, and other financial analysis

Assist in preparation of business unit MDRs and compilation of strategic review materials

Daily productivity and inventory reporting

Weekly preparation of PPM information

Assist in the implementation and improvement of internal controls

Assist Accounts Payable in resolving receiving issues at the plants

Coordinate annual physical inventories

Maintain fixed asset subsidiary ledger

Monitor and reconcile petty cash as required
