We are currently recruiting to fill the following position:AbilityOneN/AJob DescriptionPRIDE IndustriesJob DescriptionJob: Small Engine MechanicSCA Occup : 23910Small Engine MechanicSalary Grade: Federal Wage Determination or Collective Bargaining AgreementFLSA Status: Non-ExemptApproval Date: March 2017SUPERVISES:There are no direct reports with this position.POSITION SUMMARY:Under general supervision, the Small Engine Mechanic repairs gasoline and diesel engines used to power landscape equipment, compressors, generators, pumps, and similar machines in accordance with trade standards.TYPICAL DUTIES:

Repairs gasoline and diesel engines used to power lawnmowers, garden tractors, weed whackers, chainsaws, blowers, chippers, edgers, snow removal equipment and similar tools/equipment.

Uses hand tools, locates causes of trouble, dismantles engines, and inspects/examines parts for defects;

Replaces or repairs parts, such as rings and bearings;

Cleans and adjusts carburetors and magnetos, starts repaired engines and listens to sounds to test performance;

Where required, occasionally performs maintenance welder job duties;

Other duties as assigned.

DenotesEssential Job FunctionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum one year related work experience, five years preferredAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and to respond to questions from vendors, customers and managementComply with PRIDE’s safety program and adhere to proper safety practicesEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or GEDCERTIFICATES REQUIRED: The following licenses or certificates may berequired depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:Valid Driver's License PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:Maneuvering in and around equipmentBending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawlingPushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 poundsMay be required to climb ladders and/or step stools WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility.
