Duration: 6 Months Contract
Job Description:
The Senior Product Development Professional plans, designs, and conducts complex projects to improve, or generate new, products, components, systems, and processes. Leads scrum team consisting of a mixture of development, quality and creative resources on a daily basis using Agile principles. Develops and maintains technical expertise on advances and innovations in Agile and digital processes. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical and business approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
The client is seeking an experienced Product Owner to drive Digital projects. The Product Owner leads the development effort by conveying his or her vision to the team and outlining work in the Scrum backlog. The Product Owner drives a project by communicating directly with the team, while visually demonstrating prioritization decisions in the backlog.
Primary Responsibilities
o Understand product vision and break it down into an actionable backlog of user stories for the development team.
o Prioritize work for the development team based on Business Value.
o Negotiate work with the team. At the beginning of each sprint, the team and the Product Owner meet to determine what work will be tackled for the sprint.
o Answer questions from the delivery team and deliver direction.
o Act as mentor for the team for executing using the Agile methodology
o Develop creative solutions for business partner issues and barriers.
o Maintain user stories and productivity reports using Version1.
Required Qualifications
o Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience
o Understanding project management, product life cycles – agile and/or waterfall
o High level of communication, written and verbal with technical and non-technical audiences
o Ability to diffuse stressful situations
o Demonstrated strong customer care / account management skills
o Excellent oral, written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
o An ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
o An ability to work independently and as a team
o Proactive and detail oriented
o Understands the complexities of internal processes and our customers’ needs
o Analytic /strategic thinker with ability to drive initiatives forward through creative problem solving and achieving results
Preferred Qualifications
o Advance Degree
o PMP, Scrum or Agile Certifications
