Position Overview Mariner Personnel Specialist II is responsible for the safe crewing of SubCom, LLC mariners aboard vessels. This position is responsible for maintaining mariner documentation files, planning of crew members, application of all required VISA / permits. Marine Personnel Specialists working in concert with Fleet Operations to identify crew change opportunities and facilitate relief for mariners aboard vessels. Responsibilities

Maintain database of marine personnel, SIU Fleetwide Manpower Pool, SCANMAR Fleetwide Manpower Pool in order to ensure ability to resource and crew vessels. (Paypers, Marpers, Adonis, Manpower spreadsheets, officer pool)

Ensure that vessels are manned with proper crew according to SubCom Manning Scale.

Cultivate collaborative working relationships with Vessel leadership, team members and other functional teams (IPs) in SubCom in order to accomplish work.

Work in concert with Senior Manager Marine Personnel to assign appropriate relief crew to vessels.

Be available after hours to address urgent vessel needs, emergencies, travel issues etc.

Effectively drive crew changes coordinating with Master on timing, location and spacing of arrivals

SME on CBA agreements with Unions

SME on USCG requirements // Marshall Islands requirements

Become an authorized filing agent for the Republic of Marshall Islands and apply for required documents.

Effectively onboard mariners – by arranging medicals, reviewing documents, arranging visa, vaccinations and other company requirements before joining vessels.

Provide clear, professional joining notes and directives to mariners.

SME ship office manual, marine personnel policies and practices

Ensure that all marine personnel files are organized, up to date and 100% compliant

Identify instances when VISAs are required for project work and drive to apply and receive documentation.

Arrange travel for joining mariners to vessels ensuring that crew does not delay vessel operations.

Support or develop new initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity in Marine Personnel.

Participate in meetings with Ops Manager, Senior Marine Personnel Manager and other team members.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.

Must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting. MBA ideal.

Can multi-task and work well in fast-paced fluid operational environments.

Must excel in their attention to detail.

Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication, presentation, and planning skills.

Demonstrated organizational skills with emphasis on standardization and efficiency; process driven.

Demonstrates ability to work well in team environment.

Strong computer and administrative skills (proficiency in MS Office applications; e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, as well as, Adobe Acrobat).

Can work within multi-cultural environment and willing to work flexible hours as needed.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Must possess or apply for security clearance eligibility

Must hold a valid TWIC

This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Direct Hire), Position Description Number T5120P01 and is part of the MD JFHQ G4, National Guard. Responsibilities 1. Serves as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist on all Combat Service Support (CSS) Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Exercises knowledge and oversight for all matters pertaining to the fielding and operation of Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Utilizes an extensive knowledge of logistics programs/operations and a clear understanding of automated systems to manage projects and programs for systems integration of CSS automation. Identifies funding requirements to support SASMO operations, justifies and submits budget requirements for State operating budget, and executes funds received. (25%) 2. Serves as a Systems Administrator for all Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs and as the technical expert within the State/Territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Reviews SASMO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are current (i.e., help desk, repair operations, etc.).
