Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Medical Collections Specialist based in Baltimore, Maryland. As part of our client's team, you will be focusing on medical billing and collections, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medical claims and patient account management.Responsibilities: Oversee charge and payment corrections, ensuring accuracy in all transactions. Collaborate with medical providers for clarifications on incomplete or lacking information for proper account/claim adjudication. Correct, complete, and process claims for all payer codes, ensuring claims are accurately sent to insurance companies. Conduct follow-ups with Medicare, Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, and Commercial insurance companies on unpaid insurance accounts identified through aging reports. Process appeals online or via paper submission, ensuring all appeals are filed accurately and promptly. Assist in reconciling deposit and patient collections, ensuring all financial transactions are accounted for. Process refund requests in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction. Communicate effectively with the Billing Manager to identify and resolve audit review issues. Handle billing calls and questions from patients and third party carriers, providing clear and accurate information. Maintain patient confidence and protect medical office operations by keeping patient information confidential. Utilize skills in Microsoft Excel, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, Collection Processes, Medical Billing, Medical Collections, Claims Processing, Insurance Claims, Patient Collections, Refund Requests, Epic Software, Epic Hospital Billing, and Medical CodingRequirements Must have a minimum of two years' experience in medical collections Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Must have a strong understanding and working experience with billing functions. Experience in claim administration is necessary. Knowledge and experience with collection processes are required. Must have experience with medical billing and collections. Should have a proven track record in claims processing. Experience with insurance claims is essential. Must have experience in patient collections. Experience in handling refund requests is necessary. Proficiency in using Epic Software and Epic Hospital Billing is required. Must have a strong understanding and experience with medical coding. Must have a strong ability to adhere to all industry guidelines and procedures related to medical collections. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions. Should be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Must have the ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards. Must have the capability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively. Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required. Must have the ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary. The position is for a hematologist/medical oncologist with a focus on adult leukemia and strong interest and experience in translational and/or clinical research. The essential functions of the position include rounding on the inpatient hematologic malignancies teaching service, outpatient consultations and longitudinal care of patients with leukemia and related bone marrow disorders, education and mentoring of Hematology/Medical Oncology fellows, residents and medical students in inpatient and outpatient settings, and leading and participating in translational and/or clinical research in leukemia. Clinical and translational research is supported by the UMGCCC Shared Services in ourCenter for Innovative Biomedical Resources (CIBR) andthe UMGCCC Clinical Research Office. Interaction with basic and translational scientists is strongly encouraged and supported. Candidates must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and fellowship training and experience in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.   • Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Direct Hire), Position Description Number T5120P01 and is part of the MD JFHQ G4, National Guard. Responsibilities 1. Serves as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist on all Combat Service Support (CSS) Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Exercises knowledge and oversight for all matters pertaining to the fielding and operation of Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Utilizes an extensive knowledge of logistics programs/operations and a clear understanding of automated systems to manage projects and programs for systems integration of CSS automation. Identifies funding requirements to support SASMO operations, justifies and submits budget requirements for State operating budget, and executes funds received. (25%) 2. Serves as a Systems Administrator for all Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs and as the technical expert within the State/Territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Reviews SASMO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are current (i.e., help desk, repair operations, etc.). Evaluates trouble tickets escalated from the help desk, setting priorities on a weekly and monthly basis. Troubleshoots diagnoses and resolves technical problems identified in trouble tickets and initial setup of serviced Automated Logistics Information System computers to include loading software, configuring modem and network card(s), assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses with correct subnet, connectivity to the network as required, coordinating with other support personnel, and completing technical inspections. Develops programs to ensure software and vulnerability updates are applied in proper order. Assists functional users in automated CSS systems management and operation. (25%) 3 Serves as the primary point of contact for Functional Administrators and users of the serviced database(s). Administers the day-to-day database operation and maintenance of the serviced database(s). Performs tests to ensure serviced database(s) efficiently collects, stores, and processes data. Evaluates, determines, and initiates corrective action to recover or restore data and return the database(s) to operational status.
