They will apply chemistry and spectroscopy skills to conduct established assays and play a role in developing novel analytical methods.A Day in the Life:
Operate autonomously or with limited guidance from supervisors or senior researchers.
Develop and support quantitation of small/larger molecules with chromatography (UHPLC, LC-MS, IC, or ICP-MS) methods.
Support spectroscopic method (e.g., FTIR, Raman, XRF) development for identity testing of biotherapeutic ancillary raw materials as well as process monitoring.
Assist in troubleshooting existing products and work with internal and external customers to implement solutions.
Write protocols and reports, present data, and work across multiple groups.
Keys to Success:Education
Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or other related field (Master’s - or bachelor’s plus 3 years- relevant industry experience)
Experience
Previous experience with Analytical techniques such as HPLC/UHPLC, IC, ICP-MS, GC-MS, or LC-MS technology is required.
Basic knowledge of Chemometrics, qualitative/quantitative multivariate modeling, and vibrational spectroscopy, such as FTIR and Raman, spectroscopies is desired.
Good understanding and working knowledge of chemistry principles, such as acid/base chemistry, sample solubility, and precipitation, as it relates to sample preparation.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
Able to perform reliably under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
