We empower our teams to put science into meaningful action and give our R&D colleagues the autonomy, resources, and tools they need to take science a step beyond.How will you impact?The R&D Scientist II will be supporting a cross-functional team working toward the design and commercialization of new cell culture media and media supplement products. They will apply chemistry and spectroscopy skills to conduct established assays and play a role in developing novel analytical methods.A Day in the Life:

Operates autonomously or with limited guidance from supervisors or senior researchers.

Develops spectroscopic methods (e.g., FTIR, Raman, XRF) for identity testing of biotherapeutic ancillary raw materials as well as process monitoring.

Develops chromatographic methods and supports quantitation of small/large molecules.

Assists in troubleshooting existing products and work with internal and external customers to implement solutions.

Acts as the expert in spectroscopy and provides technical knowledge for functional and cross-functional project related activities.

Writes protocols and reports, present data, and work across multiple groups.

Keys to Success:EducationDegree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or other related field (PhD, master’s plus 2 years- or bachelor’s plus 7 years- relevant industry experience).Experience

Knowledge and experience in some or all spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, NIR, Far-IR, Raman, XRF, etc.) is required.

Experience with Chemometrics or multivariate analysis for classification or regression methods such as PCA, PLS regression, PLS-DA, etc. especially for spectroscopic or other analytical chemistry data is strongly preferred. AI or machine learning experience is a plus

Previous experience with chromatography techniques such as HPLC/UHPLC, IC or LC-MS technology is a differentiator.
