Description We are in search of a Medical Records Retrieval Specialist to join our team in the healthcare industry, located in Boston, MA. The role focuses on retrieving medical records from various healthcare facilities. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Retrieve medical records from various healthcare facilities for retrospective and prospective reviews. Upload retrieved paper and electronic medical charts into our secure system for review and analysis. Conduct fieldwork which includes traveling to provider offices within a defined radius. Utilize various software applications for retrieving and uploading medical records. Independently manage tasks while maintaining effective communication with healthcare providers and team leads. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) applications such as Allscripts, AHLTA, Cerner Technologies, EHR SYSTEM, and Epic Software. Perform auditing and billing functions as necessary. Answer inbound calls and provide necessary information and assistance. Maintain and update charts and graphs as per the requirement.This role requires the ability to work independently while collaborating with fellow team members, the ability to download/upload files and store them in an organized manner, and experience in document imaging or scanning.Requirements Proficiency in the use of healthcare software such as Allscripts, Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), Cerner Technologies, EHR SYSTEM, and Epic Software is essential. Capacity to effectively handle and manage inbound calls. Demonstrable experience in auditing medical records with a high level of precision. Ability to interpret and comprehend charts and graphs related to medical data. Experience in claim administration, preferably within the healthcare industry. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with healthcare professionals and patients. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards of the healthcare industry. Must have strong organizational skills to manage and retrieve medical records efficiently. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus.
