The Opportunity:We, at Flywire, are seeking a Director, Tax Strategy and OperationsThe Director, Tax Strategy and Operations, will be an integral part of the finance organization and will partner closely with the business on a wide range of tax matters. This position will be responsible for direct income taxes, consolidated tax provision preparation / review, transfer pricing analysis, special project implementation and tax technology innovations. As a well-rounded tax professional, your role will provide insightful and practical advice to help the business and senior management make strategic and tactical decisions for our company:Preparation/review of the interim and annual tax provision and financial reporting (in accordance with ASC 740), including accurate and timely tax accounting disclosures and working with external auditors to provide supporting documentation, as requested.Preparation of monthly and quarterly tax account reconciliations. Review the outsourced US federal and state income tax returns, state franchise tax returns, and international income tax returns, and coordinate the payment of all direct tax payments Manage uncertain tax benefit / tax exposure analysisPreparation of quarterly / annual SOX tax controlsSupport global income tax audits and exams by preparing/reviewing responses and appropriate analysis.Review transfer pricing analysis and calculations and maintain transfer pricing documentation.Analyze tax information and consider tax impacts, implications and strategies related to mergers and acquisitions.Monitor and manage state and local tax nexus and global permanent establishment.Develop and maintain relationships throughout the finance organization and cross-functionally to increase understanding of the business and potential impacts on tax compliance and strategy.Prepare ad hoc analyses, and assist, lead and/or manage with special tax projects including coordination with internal teams and outside advisors/consultants as needed.Identify and explore global tax planning opportunities and strategiesContinuously look for opportunities to improve existing tax processes and procedures, including staying current on latest technology developments to improve and automate tax processesStay current with global tax-related accounting pronouncements and global tax legislative changes.Tax research, as needed

  • TheDirector of Finance Strategy and Transformationwill leverage strong analytical and communication skills to improve business process flows for the Finance department at the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD), which consists of nine departments and divisions: Department of Career Services, Department of Unemployment Assistance, Department of Economic Research, Department of Labor Relations, Department of Industrial Accidents, Department of Paid Family and Medical Leave, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, Department of Labor Standards, and Commonwealth Corporation. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance Strategy and Transformation serve as a point of contact for Finance Directors, EOLWD agencies, external agencies, and vendors on matters including, but not limited to: Conducting analysis based on data, policy and/or operational requirements and produce high quality and timely insights to guide strategic planning and enhancement for the Finance department and EOLWD agencies. Managing or supporting cross-unit and cross-department projects to ensure processes, policies, and results are aligned with the secretariat\'s and/or agencies programmatic or operational goals and in compliance with state and federal requirements. Overseeing IT-focused projects, both for Finance and EOLWD agency efforts as they relate to finance functions. Collaborating with Finance units to support the development, enhancement and/or implementation of measure and policies to mitigate risk across Finance functions. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of finance, accounting, and state budget policies and practices Familiarity with state enterprise systems, including MMARS and CIW Experience in a finance role with an IT or project management focus MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least one (1) year must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required (A) experience. II. A Bachelor\'s degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (A) experience. III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required (A) experience. IV. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required (A) experience.
