Industry Readiness Lead, Vice PresidentFedNow –The Federal Reserve is developing a new interbank 24x7x365 real-time gross settlement (RTGS) service with integrated clearing functionality, called the FedNow service. This service will help enable financial institutions provide their customers with the ability to send and receive payments any time, any day, and have full access to those funds within seconds. This position is a unique opportunity to be part of a new mission-critical Federal Reserve initiative that will be transformative to the payments landscape in the United States. Position Overview– The Industry Readiness Lead reports to the business executive and is responsible for overseeing industry engagement for the FedNow service to ensure industry readiness when the service goes live. The lead will engage with various industry members including banks, service providers, and vendors to promote FedNow adoption and develop the faster payments ecosystem. The lead will form and chair industry groups, provide onboarding assistance across customers, and prepare and provide training, and facilitate user acceptance testing.

Position Contributions –

Oversee FedNow’s work to ensure industry readiness for when the service goes live, including creating and managing pilot and advisory groups with customer and third party stakeholders

Work directly with banks, aggregators, and vendors to build and maintain strong relationships with industry to promote adoption, usage, and to develop a faster payments ecosystem

Liaise with industry, pilot group, third party service providers, software vendors, and internal stakeholders including product and operations leads, ISO expert, and CRSO, on product development, implementation, and operational matters

Provide onboarding assistance to develop a high degree of operational readiness across customers, which will include having a technical understanding of the solution and customer requirements

Develop charter, secure membership, and chair a Faster Payments Advisory Group

Develop externally facing training documentation, user guides, and conduct training which may include in person town halls and webinars

Coordinate and support user acceptance testing

Expertise you would bring –

Background in banking, payment systems and private sector clearing and settlement arrangements

Technical and business background with proven experience working with industry partners on product implementations

Demonstrated experience managing, developing and coaching a high performing team of senior staff

Ability to effectively work remotely and across teams

It’s added value if you have –

Master’s Degree preferred and a minimum of 10 years of related experience

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to quickly gather, analyze and synthesize information

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to express ideas in a clear, concise and compelling manner and tailor communications for different audiences

Detail-oriented and capable self-starter with the ability to explore innovative ways to perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner as an individual and in a team environment

Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills including the ability to influence and build consensus across teams; demonstrated experience delivering successful outcomes on projects involving multiple stakeholders with differing / diverging interests highly desired

Ability to work independently in a remote team environment and to proactively identify product opportunities that arise related to business trends and market developments

Strong project management skills to include organization, planning, and execution with the ability to manage various tasks simultaneously and work under tight deadlines with conflicting priorities, while providing high quality products

Logistics & Requirements -

May include remote working arrangements and some required travel, which will vary during project phases.
