RESEARCH DATA ANALYST, School of Public Health, Epidemiology

The Data Analyst will primarily be responsible for data management, quality control, and statistical analysis of data from Pregnancy Study Online (PRESTO) in the Department of Epidemiology at the Boston University School of Public Health. Additional responsibilities will include analysis documentation and manuscript preparation. The Data Analyst will primarily use SAS statistical software to perform analyses. The Data Analyst be critical to ensuring the timely presentation and publication of results from the PRESTO cohort.Essential Functions:

Perform statistical analyses (descriptive statistics, stratification, multivariable regression, spline curves, measurement error correction, inverse probability weighting) using SAS software and selected macros in support of various research projects.

Perform data management, including extraction and cleaning of raw data, derivation of new variables, labeling and formatting of raw and derived variables, and multiple imputation. Maintain and update research databases to facilitate analyses.

Document processes involved in data preparation, manipulation, and statistical analysis.

Prepare study results for inclusion in conference presentations, grants, and scientific publications.

This is an in-person/on-premises role with the occasional opportunity for remote work, upon consideration of impact on business operations.

Required Skills

A Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or biostatistics with 1-3 years of experience

Demonstrated skill using SAS, Access, Excel, and data management to support the analysis project

Analytic experience and statistical knowledge to use perform descriptive statistics, stratification, and multivariable regression (linear, log-binomial, and Cox) using SAS

Experience with multiple imputation, spline regression, inverse probability weighting, and measurement error correction.

Solid background in epidemiology. Extensive knowledge of study design, questionnaire design and development, and methodological issues related to bias and confounding.

Experience writing and publishing scientific manuscripts as co-author

Desire to work independently to deliver work of the highest quality
