We're looking for someone passionate about food and willing to learn about everything we offer here at Savenor's. The ideal candidate has butchery and manager experience. Location is Charles St, Boston, MA.

Job Description

The Lead Butcher is responsible for Savenor's meat program and managing all activities of the department. Including selling, service management, merchandising, product handling, presentation, scheduling, ordering, receiving, and inventory control standards. This position is responsible for training and developing staff, work schedules, and managing staff.

Responsibilities

Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory control to ensure freshness, product, quality, and turnover.

Maintain meat, seafood, deli, freezer and poultry cases.

Froster yield test to ensure pricing is accurate.

Create and maintain cleaning guidelines for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning.

Hold team members to high standards of cleanliness, speed, reduction of waste, and customer service.

Manage department profitability, merchandising, guest service, and appearance.

Lead by example, perform all tasks expected of team members such as cutting, weighing, and packaging meat products.

Delegate and follow up on tasks, ensure daily production periods and operations are fully executed.

Ensure adherence of all duties and procedures performed by team members such as full stocked cases and adequate product levels for the next shift.

Manage employee performance and provide ongoing feedback to train, cross-train, and develop employees.

Assure all employees observe appropriate safety and sanitary precautions.
