Job Description Summary

The Maintenance Technician takes care of the building, equipment and grounds of the hotel. This position will perform maintenance and repairs, and preventative maintenance, to all areas of the hotel.

Job Description

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:

Key Job Functions

-Take responsibility for and inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to the security of guests, associates or hotel assets.

-Complete work orders such as replacing ceiling titles, filters, light bulbs, painting, repairs to pipe lines, toilets, sinks, Adjust draperies

-Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc.

-Perform preventive maintenance as outlined in the PM Works program.

-To keep records of work done in each room.

-All repairs in a room including the heating and air conditioning units.

-Repair or replace defective electrical switches and fixtures.

-Repairs plumbing fixtures A/C equipment.

-Adjust or replace televisions

-Deliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our Guests

-You will be passionate and truly engaged in taking care of our guests, recognizing individual guests and anticipating their unique needs in order to exceed their expectations

-You will consistently deliver our GUEST model:

-Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description. Schedules are open and holidays are expected to work.

Qualifications and Skills

A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.

-Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates.

-Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor

-Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

-Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and/or Experience

Prior electrical, plumbing, mechanical experience or training. Ability to work independently and be a self-started.
