Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Unit Support Operations Coordinator in Greenfield, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be a crucial part of our healthcare team, tasked with managing patient records, facilitating communication among staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical unit.Responsibilities: Act as a point of contact for the unit, managing the collection and dissemination of pertinent information. Accurately transcribe written orders and ensure their prompt execution. Maintain and update hospital records and logs, ensuring all patient charts are in proper sequence and all pages are correctly stamped with the patient's name. Prepare and finalize patient medical records for transfers or discharges, ensuring all essential elements are present and accurate. Provide timely and effective communication within the unit, answering telephone calls and intercom messages in a courteous manner. Facilitate the distribution, filing, and archiving of departmental mail and computer-generated information. Manage inventory and supplies, accurately initiating requisitions as needed and storing supplies promptly upon receipt. Be knowledgeable of and ready to initiate emergency procedures when necessary. Foster collaborative relationships with members of the healthcare team, assisting with patient care activities as needed. Mentor and guide new staff members to promote effective team relationships. Manage work orders for the department as needed. Requirements Proficient in communication skills for effective interaction with patients, medical staff, and other stakeholders Experience in managing office functions and ensuring smooth operations within a medical unit Knowledge of medical documentation procedures and ability to maintain accurate records Ability to handle operations related to inbound calls, workstation support, and receptionist duties Familiarity with medical coverage and health care protocols Ability to handle clerical duties including receipt processing, maintaining logs, and transcribing medical records Proficiency in using R Code for data analysis and creating charts and graphs Experience in scanning documents and ensuring their proper storage Ability to coordinate with appropriate personnel for various tasks and work orders Knowledge of collection processes and ability to handle requisitions Ability to handle medical records and diagnosis in a confidential manner Experience in handling receptionist duties in a courteous manner.
