Director, Marketing InsightsNewark, DE, United StatesMarlborough, MA, United StatesThe Director, Market Insights, will embed the use of qualitative and quantitative research into the new product development (NPD) process as a subject matter expert and process architect. This role is the process owner of early-stage NPD and the Strategic Plan, and jointly responsible for the research plans associated with critical projects.Critical Responsibilities:
Vendor Management: Opportunity to select vendors that provide both secondary market data and support primary market research. Serve as the expert resource to help others choose and access the right vendor based on their needs.
Factbase Market Model : Working closely with the Portfolio Team and our Commercial Analytics Analyst, select appropriate data sources and then integrate them to a single source of truth that provides market information for the business.
Research Plans Supporting New Product: Partner with the Portfolio team to develop and execute a holistic research plan for each of our active NPD projects. You will be part of the core team and a trusted leader that will guide Marketing, R&D and others through the research process. Create tools, best practices documents, and ways of working that are accessible and easy to use. Provide coaching on tool and source selection, aid in the development of research materials including activities, scripts, and support primary research activities both with vendor selection or coaching and support if they conduct these activities themselves. Build towards a repeatable process with supporting templates, training and structure.
New Product Development & Strategic Planning Process Ownership: Process owner for the pre-charter phases of product development, with the ability to shape the structure and governance to make our process efficient and drive great product decisions.
Factbook: Develop a scalable method to capture and disseminate the commercial insights our sales force and brand marketing team garner from our customers. This may be done as needed or on a quarterly basis.
Talent development: Provide individual coaching for the GPS team to help increase their ability as market researchers . Continue to streamline access to information, training and scalability of the resources available integrating a consistent feedback loop to iterate and improve over time.
Additional Info:The annualized base salary range for this role is $147,400 to $262,100 and is bonus eligible.
