Mentor/Lead Teacher

Mentor/Lead Teachers provide high quality, mission-aligned early childhood education for children in their assigned classroom, and anchor the classroom teaching team in best practices and inquiry. Mentor teachers are responsible for preparing and maintaining the learning environment according to Apple Playschools’ philosophy, to modeling, coaching, and supporting the professional development of Apprentice and Flex Teachers in their classrooms, and for ensuring timely and appropriate communication between school and students’ families. Mentor teachers hold the main responsibility for collaborative curriculum planning, providing students with individualized support, and coordinating teaching staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences and complete daily classroom and community care tasks. Mentor teachers must work at least 35 hours a week, and at least 6 hours a day in the classroom.
Apprentice Teacher

The Apprentice Teacher provides high quality, mission aligned early childhood education for children in an assigned classroom while training under Lead/Mentor Teacher of that class. Apprentices must meet LARA licensing education requirements appropriate to assigned role and are required to work in the classroom a minimum of 25 hours/week.
The Apprentice Teacher is directly supervised by the Mentor Teacher and reports to the Program Director.
Flex/Float Teacher
$14-14.75 per hr, growth opportunities, flexible schedules, if working full time retirement matching, and 4+ weeks of PTO! Join our collaborative, anti-bias focused early childhood team today.
Flex Teachers may have a varying amount of background or experience in early childhood education and demonstrates basic understanding of practice and/or pedagogy and curiosity. They support Apprentice and Mentor teachers in providing high quality early childhood education, in alignment with our mission and vision. Flex teachers may be asked to substitute for another teacher as needed, as well as perform simple cleaning and food preparation. Flex teachers may be asked to substitute at other sites on occasion.
