Description We are offering an engaging opportunity for a Cost Accountant in the manufacturing industry based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. This role involves processing financial statements, performing SOX controls, and providing financial support to the local leadership. The function also includes analyzing financial statements for variances and working on productivity and cost savings.Responsibilities include: Preparing financial statements and ensuring their timely and accurate reconciliation in the monthly closing process, in line with company accounting policies and GAAP. Performing SOX controls in compliance with company policy and providing support for external and internal audits as required. Assisting in the annual operating plan and forecasting processes, analyzing financial statement variances. Acting as a business partner for the manufacturing department, supporting local leadership through performance of lean manufacturing activities. Tracking and validation of project work from concept to completion, including monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs). Improving financial processes and ensuring financial statements and business support are delivered with a high level of independent judgment, accuracy, and initiative. Using Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Crystal Reports, Epicor, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and other relevant skills to perform accounting functions, handle accounts payable (AP), conduct audits, and manage budget processes. Handling cash activity efficiently and accurately.The role does not require any specific duration of employment. Requirements Possess a minimum of three years of experience in a Cost Accountant role in the manufacturing industry Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and ADP - Financial Services Skilled in using Crystal Reports and Epicor Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Strong knowledge of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP) Experience with Auditing and Budget Processes Ability to manage and track Cash Activity Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
