Effort 50%The Department of Classical Studies in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan seeks qualified applicants for a part time, one term position to begin January 1, 2025. This position is pending final approval.ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities for this GSI position are teaching three in-person discussion sections of CLCIV 389: The Philosophy of Happiness. In addition to teaching and grading responsibilities, the instructor will be required to attend all CLCIV 389 lectures, hold office hours for students, provide appropriate syllabus and course materials, and attend weekly meetings with the faculty instructor.Required QualificationsEnrollment in a graduate program in Classical Studies, Ancient History, Classical Archaeology or a related humanities field.Desired QualificationsKnowledge of Greek civilization and history and experience teaching Classical Civilization courses at the college level.Modes of WorkPositions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
