General inquiries and questions about the position can be sent to Tina Mainieri, [email protected] .Job SummaryWe are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to join a research team examining a broad range of family and community factors influencing Alzheimers disease and related dementia (ADRD) risks and resilience. The position involves two focuses:

Development of measures of family care availability to care for older adults with ADRD (NIA 1RF1AG083037), which will involve extensive data and analytic work incorporating broad family contextual factors. The research utilizes comprehensive and unique data resources collected by the Health and Retirement Study and many contextual data sources, and engages an interdisciplinary team of researchers in economics, medicine, and public health. The candidate will help construct composite measure of family availability, carry out analyses and lead and assist with manuscripts using the measures of family availability related to outcomes of care utilization and transition with specific focus on implications for ADRD care and resilience. The development of conceptual and analytic framework of family and community contextual factors in ADRD risks and resilience (NIA U24AG088894) which will involve scoping and systematic literature review of substantive aspects, data, and methods. The postdoc will help analyze and summarize results from scoping and systematic reviews of family and community contextual factors in ADRD and participating in manuscript writing. A successful candidate will present research activities within the group and at scientific meetings. PhD degree or equivalent in economics, public health, gerontology, or other relevant fields

Experience with analysis of large health science databases or studies

Advanced level of training and experiences in statistics and data science

Extensive experience in R, SAS, STATA or a similar statistical programming language

Strong motivation to learn and stay abreast of new analytic techniques

Demonstrated interpersonal skills and oral and written communication

Ability to work independently or collaboratively and to show initiative within a strong team dynamic

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Work LocationsThe primary appointment will be at the School of Medicine. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Dr. HwaJung Choi and faculty members at the School of Medicine and the Institute for Social Research who have investigator roles on the grants. The work environment will be hybrid remote and in-person. The postdoctoral fellow will share an office in the North Campus Research Complex (NCRC). Weekly presence in the office is encouraged. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience of the candidate.
