Job Purpose:
A Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Their duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damage to inventory.
About the Role:
A successful Shipping Associate should be able to fulfill all duties and responsibilities related to the shipment and receiving of material to and from our customers and suppliers. Shipping Clerks are able to perform efficiently in a warehouse environment by handling incoming and outgoing deliveries.
Duties and responsibilities:
Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
Collaborates and communicates with logistics, customer service, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
Maintains a clean, neat, and work ready environment.
Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries, sorts, logs, and stocks receivables.
Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
Be able to assist when, where, and for whatever is needed throughout the day.
Knowledge of storage bin locations and where they are found in building.
Be able to tell what are finished goods and unfinished goods.
Knowledge of the phase for unfinished goods
How to look up specific Delivery notes and or shipments
How to identify what has been completed for each order and what else still must be still completed to cut final paperwork for shipment
Safe Forklift / Hilo operation (certification / License preferred but not required)
Understanding of the steps to complete process from Creating order notes to ship
Perform Duties as Assigned
Qualifications:
To succeed as a Shipping & Receiving associate at Huron Valley Sales, you need to have the following:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Prior shipping and receiving experience preferred.
Strong sense of time organization and urgency
Able to work independently and within a team.
Good communication skills.
A problem solver.
Be able work in conditions of a shop.
