Position is in Pontiac, Michigan.

Based on experience level, $20-$30/hr. base plus earning 10% premium for 2nd shift and 15% premium for 3rd shift. Schedules: Positions will train on first shift up to 6 months and transfer to preference of 2nd or 3rd shift based on applicant preference.

Training schedule: 6am-2:30pm After training schedules after transfer will earn 10%-15% premiums: 2nd shift: 2:30pm-11:00pm or 3rd shift: 9:30pm-6am.

Position Overview: Set-up and operate CNC OD, ID, and Studer Grinder, and Surface Grinders, CNC Lathes, and/or manual machines.

Job Duties: Grind and/or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications. Participate in establishing manufacturing methods, including machine, test, material and tooling requirements, to ensure parts are machined according to engineering tolerances/specifications. Perform inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces. Provide input and recommendations for selecting, installing, and adjusting CNC and Manual machine grind wheels to ensure they are consistent with type and size of material being ground. Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensures that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained. Communicate change of shift requirements to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation. Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated. Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards. Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell. Adhere to all safety standards and regulations. Strive to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of machined parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput. Train cell specialist on new and incoming grinding equipment. Performs other duties as required.

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required Prefer 2 years’ experience in one or more of the following: o CNC Grinding experience o CNC Lathe o OD & ID Grinding o Surface Grinding o Manual Machining Experience with precision machining is desirable. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, planning, and manufacturing specifications. Possess the fundamentals in GD&T. Must have experience with a variety of standard and dedicated gauging approaches. Experience with aerospace materials such as SST, Inconel's, Hast X, Aluminum, etc. is a plus. Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
