The primary focus of the Residential Glazier is to perform the safe and successful installation of shower doors/glass, mirrors, and windows in homes. As Crew Leader, you will be responsible for leading a crew of two, ensuring they have necessary materials, submitting paperwork and time logs, and reporting any discrepancies or incomplete work daily. This position reports to the President.
This job operates in a field environment. The work day begins and ends at the company’s office/shop in Dexter, Michigan. This position travels from the shop to customer’s sites throughout the greater Ann Arbor area. This involves work both inside and outside customer’s homes or commercial buildings.
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional overtime is required.
Key Responsibilities:

Installation of glass and other glazing materials
Installation of shower door, shower enclosures, glass guardrails, mirrors, etc.
Installation of hardware and other materials associated with the above items
Measure mirrors and dimensions of areas to be covered to determine work procedures
Secure mirrors in position, using mastic cement, putty, bolts, or screws.
Cut and remove broken glass before installing replacement glass.
Score glass with cutters’ wheels, breaking off excess glass by hand or with notched tools
Abide by site safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE at all times
Supervisory Responsibility:
Responsible for leading a crew of 2 at job sites to complete assigned work assignments.
Responsible for ensuring the crew has all the necessary materials for work assignments prior to departing the shop.
Responsible for submitting all work assignment paperwork and logging crew time on work assignments at the end of each day.
Responsible for notifying the office of any discrepancies, errors, and incomplete work from assignments at the end of each day.
About You:
Ability to work successfully with a team as well as independently
Ability to stay organized and manage multiple work assignments
Ability to read construction drawings (preferred)
Ability to lift heavy material as well as work at heights of 3ft or more
Ability to travel depending on project locations
Ability to regularly lift and/or move 30-100 lbs daily.
High School Diploma or GED
2-5 years in Residential or Commercial Glazing/Shop Experience
Must have a valid driver’s US license
Preferred Education and Experience
Carpentry or other similar trade experience will be considered.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and carry glass to and from vehicles to where the glass is to be installed. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee may have to work from heights up to 30’ such as climbing a ladder or working from a scaffold.
